Activity 2 : Kes / « At school » [01 : 06]

1/ Watch the sequence twice carefully and reorganize the different parts :

1. The teacher asks him to talk about his hawk.
2. He talks about the bird and explains where he found it.
3. Billy does not listen and has nothing to say about himself.
4. The teacher asks Billy to go to the board and to write the new words on it.
5. The others suggest him a topic.

6. The teacher encourages him.
7. The teacher and the pupils are enthusiastic and applaud him for his brilliant presentation.
8. The other pupils ask him questions and he answers them precisely.
9. Billy becomes more and more talkative.
10. Billy has succeeded in training his hawk.

Résumé

Kes02Billy, élevé dans le milieu rude des mineurs du Yorkshire et montrant peu d'intérêt pour l'école, parvient à s'épanouir le jour où il recueille un petit faucon sauvage. Il étudie un livre de dressage et se découvre une passion : il fera du prédateur un ami.

Cette comédie dramatique, cruelle et tendre à la fois, est émouvante.
